Love Bombing and the WMSCOG

Love Bombing and the WMSCOG

“Love Bombing is the reason they are nice to you at the WMSCOG.”

When people visit the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) there is one thing they cannot deny – the Church members are very kind, welcoming and pleasant to be around. Many visitors find this comforting and, at many times, it’s what helps individuals accept the teachings of the Bible. However, “cult experts” and their disciples, who dislike the Church and label the Church as a “cult,” say that the only reason the members are nice to you in the Church is because they are “love Bombing” you.

“Love Bombing” is a term used by “cult experts” to explain the reason why the groups they label as “cults” are nice to individuals. They go on to explain that the love is not real and that groups use this as a tactic to manipulate and deceive people into joining the “cult.” It is another one of the “psychological techniques” used in “cults” to “brainwash” the unsuspecting “recruits.”

Once again, this elaborate definition, invented by “cult experts” and their followers, goes against the tenets of the Bible. This is once again an example of how these made-up definitions inhibit WMSCOG members from freely practicing their faith.

Jesus Also Love Bombed His Disciples

Love Bombing and the World Mission Society Church of God

Matthew 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was in the law, He replied, to love God with all your heart, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Could we say that Jesus was teaching His believers to “love Bomb” their neighbors? Obviously we cannot say that, but if we follow the principles of “cult experts” then we have to say so.

Luke 10:33-37 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

If we try to follow the teachings of Christ and put into practice our love towards our neighbors in the way the Good Samaritan did, are we at risk of being accused of being part of a “cult” that is just employing “psychological techniques of brainwashing,” such as “love Bombing”? Where do we draw the line between what is acceptable Christian behavior and what is condemned as “cult-like behavior” by “cult experts”?

Irresponsible Labeling of Groups As “Cults” Creates Religious Discrimination

As I explained in other articles, the label “cult,” which is irresponsibly applied by “cult experts” based on broad labeling theories, inhibits Christians like the members of the World Mission Society Church of God from practicing their faith in accordance with the Bible.

The Bible teaches us to treat people with love and respect. But, now we cannot put those teachings into practice because if we do, then we will be considered to be in a “dangerous cult.”

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Romans 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the lawLove does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

How do we practice the teachings described in the verses above, if according to “cult experts” that is a “psychological brainwashing technique” of “love bombing?” Do we then have to be mean to people when they come to Church so that we are not seen as a “cult?” Should we not talk to each other and avoid being nice to each other in Church because we might be “love bombing” one another? This type of labeling creates trust issues between members and social conflicts, which the teachings of Christ are meant to fix.

As I have said in other articles, the label “cult” turns a normal Christian practice into something evil. Showing concern for a person now becomes “love bombing,” and thus affects the faith of the Church members.

This image is taken from an insurance company commercial. Although it is just a commercial, it proves a point. People will be quick to judge without knowing or understanding the situation. Wow! Awesome article!
As a member of the WMSCOG, the reason why I express love and serve my brothers and sisters at the Church, is because I try to follow the example of Heavenly Mother. She is the source of love. It is not an artificial expression, but it comes from the root of God the Mother’s heart. Love abounds at the Church, because it is a teaching of God.

    Without love, everything is meaningless.

  2. Jessica

Ok now they are making stuff up. This is getting ridiculous!

    • Yema

      Lol! Seriously! Amen!

It’s sad when you can’t show care for another person without having to worry about how it will be received. The whole point of Christianity is to share the love of God with everyone.

If a church is sharing the true love of God than accroding to the bible they are practicing their faith correctly.

When I First came to the church of God I was really surprise at the smiles members shared, and everyone being so United and giving to each other. Then it was a Little surprising because everyone in this world is not always at their best most of the time being consumed by all their daily worries. All members at the church are always giving love, concerned for everyone and caring simply because they all receive the Love of God which is beyond what our imagination then as good Christians member try always to follow and resemble their God. The king of the universe came as prophecy and showed us how to become true children of God. And the Queen of the Universe our Mother has come and have give us all the Love of the kingdom of Heaven. People in this world needs God’s love which are the true commandments taught in the Church of God.

Really amazing article. Throughout my life I had amazing friends and family that I love so much but doesn’t mean I automatically had to do everything they told me. In the same way the Church members are really amazing, but I don’t believe the teachings just because they are very loving, but because the teachings are true and I get to see them with my own eyes. Truly an amazing loving Church but most importantly, it’s the truth. 🙂

  6. Brittany Sherrod

People judge the Church of God because they are “too nice”???. Since when was it a crime to be nice to people? Just because the members of Church of God aren’t mean to each other, they aren’t deceitful, nor are they shady, they get branded as a cult?! How foolish! I don’t know about anyone else, but I would MUCH rather go to a church that’s filled with LOVE rather than animosity and people who are fake.

  7. Carly

To a (not)cult expert on a mission to make money, everything is labeled and seen in a skewed way and negative. If the church is nice, it’s love bombing. If the church is then mean instead, then they would still label it and say they aren’t Christians, they don’t show any love. When you’re a hammer, everything looks like a nail…how true!

Also, if the church “lovebombs” to get people to join the church, then why are the members who have been attending the church together for 5, 10, 15, 20 years and so on, still full of love and kindness for one another, if it’s not real love???

  8. Israel S.

Haha, since when is being nice and showing love to people a bad thing. They should immediately stop conversing with these “cult experts”. They are completely counter productive towards society with their ridiculousness

  9. Ron Clédor

I’m so glad this article was put together. How does anyone in their right mind accuse a Christian Church of being too nice (love-bombing). It really doesn’t make sense.
When these “cult experts” say such things, it’s really up to each individual to judge for themselves: is this a teaching of the Bible or not? Does God ask us to be this way or no?

Before judging too quickly, please find out for yourself. I did, and it was the best decision I ever made in my life.

  10. Alexandra

I’ve now heard it all! So acts of kindness are viewed as wrong? People don’t know what else to say and this is why they make false accusations against us. We genuinely care for our members, new comers, and visitors. We are a true family! We follow the teachings of God the Mother. Heavenly Mother teaches us love, humility, kindness, servitude, among so many other great things. Please come and judge for yourself. Please don’t go by the judgement or opinion of others. Thank you!

  11. Patricia

Wow out of all the false claims against the church “love bombing” has to be by far the most foolish! I personally love the word of God, I love the truth and I love the WMSCOG that shares genuine love with others following the example of our Heavenly Mother.

  12. Ruby

The truth that Jesus taught 2000 years ago, is amazing and perfect, it moves the Heart, knowing that amazing truth is what makes the members so happy, and that happiness builds up and up, and when a person comes and studies, the joy multiplies more, is a true happiness, no one can fake feeling happiness, the members of the Church of God are so happy because they know true God, because we can be united through the Creator God, is very joyful. I felt love coming to the church and although many things happen in life, I am in good hands, the Hands of Elohim God.

  13. Mayra

This is so absurd-“love bombing”…a new term to further label the Church of God. The members in the church genuinely care about each other and display the love of Christ to one another. Since when has it become something bad to show love?
Please don’t listen to labels, but instead see for yourself how genuine are all of the members 🙂

  14. Sherita

The warmth at the Churh of God was very touching to me. It felt like I was around family. I recognized there, that only people with true happiness can give it to others and I wanted to learn why. After studying the Bible at the Church of God I learned about the true love of God and why the members are so nice and are always trying to show love to people. The world is clearly lacking authentic love so they judge things negatively. But love is strength and I hope the members of the Church of God continue and grow in love.

So glad to come across an article like this. It’s very true how people misjudge the WMSCOG without having gone themselves to see how they actually are. Keep these articles coming! It clarifies people’s misjudgment.
