World Mission Society Church of God & The End of the World

World Mission Society Church of God & The End of the World

Did the World Mission Society Church of God preach about the End of the World?

So as I was browsing the web, I came across an article written by someone who seems to be a bit overconfident about  her claims. The author of this article brags about having unveiled the failed predictions of the World Mission Society Church of God.

First of all, the World Mission Society Church of God has never taught that the end of the world was going to take place in the year 2012. You will not find records of this in the official website of the World Mission Society Church of God or in any official announcements from the General Assembly.

The author of the article goes on to quote the judgment on the case of the Church of God vs. Ji Won Tak as evidence that the World Mission Society Church of God predicted the end of the world in 1988, 1999 and 2012. One thing you have to understand is that the claims on that report were made by the defense of Ji Won Tak. Every claim made by Tak was deemed false and ultimately the witnesses who spoke on behalf of Tak against the Church lost their case.

The World Mission Society Church of God does not preach the end of the World

Korean Newspaper which declared the verdict of Korean Supreme Court that the Church of God does not preach about the End of the World, nor does it break families

The World Mission Society Church of God never predicted the end of the world in 1988,1999 or 2012.

The author goes on saying that she gets the information directly from Korea, as if the information from Korea was different from what is taught in the Churches in the US. Let me ask a question, if the information coming from Korea is supposed to unveil the discrepancies and prove false the World Mission Society Church of God, then why is it that the majority of Church members of the World Mission Society Church of God reside in Korea? And why are there 400 churches in Korea? Because they already know that the claims made in the article are false.

As I have already said, the claims being made are comparable to someone boasting about learning the true facts of the life of Jesus and the Church 2,000 years ago from the Pharisees and the Sadducees of the time who did not follow or believe in Him.

When Jesus resurrected 2,000 years ago, the guards who witnessed the event went to the religious leaders of that time and told them everything that had happened. But the Pharisees paid them a sum of money and told them to tell everyone that Jesus’ disciples stole the body while everyone slept.

Matthew 28:11-15 – While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.

Imagine if I started to proclaim that I know the true life of Jesus Christ because I learned from the religious leaders of His time. Do you think I would have true faith in Christ if I did that? Absolutely Not! In the same way, the alleged information coming from Korea that the author of that article receives is actually coming from people who do not believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother. Then, how can anyone expect this report to be accurate?  Do you think that those who do not believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother will say good things about them? The answer is No.

This claim is really just annoying. The World Mission Society Church of God teaches about how to receive eternal life…. the church also teaches that you cannot know the date or the hour (Matthew 24:36).

I really wonder why some people spend so much time making false accusations and slandering the World Mission Society Church of God. What is their true motive and intention?

    LET’S STOP AND THINK:

Do they put the same effort into making websites attacking religions that worship gods in the forms of animals and bow down to statues in the forms of humans and objects like the sun or trees?

Have they ever “examined” these religions and made videos and blogs against their god-animals and idols?

Why so much hatred ONLY towards the church that follows the Bible and the teachings of Christ?

  3. JESSICA

I attended the church in the year 2012! Church of GOD NEVER STATED the end will be 2012!!
PLEASE STUDY THE BIBLE SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND!!

I have been a member of the Church of God for quite a few years now. When 2012 was coming, never once had we ever heard an announcement that it was going to be the end of the world. Not from Heavenly Mother, not from General Assembly and not even from the members. So, this insistence clearly comes from people on the outside who have no idea what’s going on. The Bible says that no one knows the day or the hour. Whenever a new member asks when the end of the world will be the only answer I have ever heard given is through Matthew 24:36.

This false claim is funny to me because it is just so ridiculous that people would say such things. In my experience in the Church of God, I have never been taught that the end of the world is going to take place on a certain date. The church of God firmly believe and keeps the words of the bible and Jesus Christ himself testified that no one knows the day or the time. So if any church is to teach something like that then they are clearly going against Christ himself. As the bible testifies, that day will come with the world will eventually come to an end but the WMSCOG does not teach any specific dates! We all eagerly await the kingdom of Heaven where we will be able to spend eternity together without any pain, mourning, sadness, and death -REVELATION 21:4!!!!

I have been an active member of the Church of God since the beginning of 2010 until now, of course, that includes the year of 2012. As my personal experience, there was NO official announcement of 2012 being the end of the world, I am sure there were rumors or probably misunderstanding, but that doesn’t mean that is what the Church of God teaches. Heavenly Mother has emphasized so many times that we should focus on salvation and saving souls and not the time or date.

As even the article says “They were proliferating unsubstantiated rumors that the Church of God preaches a time-limited eschatology.” The rumors they spread were proven to be false even in the supreme court. The Church of God follows only the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother which do not include a set date for the end of the world. Members of the Church of God, myself included, confirm that there has never been a teaching that the world will end in 2012.

I am a member of the church of God since 2010, and I was never told that the end would be in 2012. I like to share what I learned from the bible with my family and friends , however “the end proclaim to be in 2102” was never a topic I discussed , I mean it if was true I think out of concern, that would have been the first thing I would have shared , but contrary to that , I only shared Heavenly Mother , Father Christ Ahnsahnghong , and the truth of the new covenant Passover , which was emphasized in all the studies I learned at church of God. I agree with the true wmscog, this idea is a wrong interpretation of people , not a teaching of the church.

  9. GIANCARLO

I did not come to the WMSCOG until autumn 2013. I however do remember the prior year everyone making a huge deal the world was gonna end according to the MAYAN CALENDAR. Have any of you who slander made any efforts to go against the media or maybe stop on by Central America and accuse the ancient Mayan civilization of false testimony? WMSCOG follow the teachings of the bible meaning that when Father said, Matthew 24:36 -“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” It means that if not even angels in heaven know of the end, how much less will men know.

  10. Curtis

I started attending the Church of God before 2012. No one told me that the world was going to end in 2012. It was quite the opposite. I was actually told not to focus on a date because the bible says it would come like a rhrif in the night. Sooooooo I’m curious where this rumor came from.
