WMSCOG is wrong according to Matthew 24

Second Coming Christ is in Zion

According the Matthew 24 Christ Ahnsahnghong is a false prophet?

In the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) we believe Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Second coming of Christ, we often tell people that according to the lesson of the fig tree, Second Coming Christ already appeared in 1948, and that He came in the same way as 2,000 years ago; that is as a human being. When we tell people about this, they often say that it cannot be possible, because of several reasons, but one of them is the following verse:

Matthew 24:23-26 – At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect – if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it…

They go on to say, that since the Bible said not to believe anyone who says: “Here is the Christ, or there he is” then Christ Ahnsahnghong is a false Christ, and therefore they cannot believe in Him. But there is a couple of things we have to realize on how this verse does not apply to Christ Ahnsahnghong and the WMSCOG.

Even if the real Christ appears we won’t be able to believe in Him.

If we interpret the verse above without taking into consideration the context then we cannot believe even if the real Christ appears. For if someone says: “look here is the Christ”, even if it is the real one, we can’t believe it; or if someone says: “look Christ is over there”, even if it is the real one, we can’t believe it. So how are we supposed to believe the real one when He does appear?

What we need to understand is that Jesus was giving this warning to His disciples — to the ones who had already met the Christ – to them Jesus said: “If anyone says to you, here is the Christ or there He is do not believe it.” So what disciples was Jesus speaking to? If we read a few verses before we can understand.

Matthew 24:20 – Pray that your flight will not take place in the winter or on the Sabbath.

As we can see through the verse above, Jesus was speaking to His disciples who were keepers of the Sabbath day, to the disciples who are indeed keeping God’s commandments, not to the ones who disobey Gods commandments, by keeping Sunday as the day of worship to God.

Second Coming Christ will appear to those who are waiting for Him.

Now one thing that we have to admit is that second coming Christ will surely appear to bring salvation, but according to the Bible, this salvation will not be given to everyone.

Hebrews 9:28 – so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

As we can see through the passage above, when second coming Christ appears, the purpose of His coming is to bring salvation. Concerning this salvation, the Bible says that it is not for everyone to receive, but it will only be given to those who are waiting for Him. In order to receive the salvation which second coming Christ brings, we need to be the ones who are waiting for Him; however in order to wait for Him, we need to know where He will appear. How can we wait for Him, if we do not know where He is going to appear?

Christ must appear in Zion

We need to find out according to Bible where is the place in which second coming Christ will appear, in order for us not to be deceived by a false Christ. Where can we put our trust?

Isaiah 28:16 – So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.

God tells us that in Zion He will lay a stone, and that whoever puts their trust here will never be dismayed. Then what is this stone that has been laid as the cornerstone and foundation for Zion?

Acts 4:10-11 — … It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth … He is “the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.

According to the Bible Christ is that stone which is mentioned in Isaiah, He is the one who is the sure foundation to Zion, and whoever trusts in the Christ which is found in Zion will never be dismayed. As it is written in 1 Peter:

1 Peter 2:4-8As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in scriptures it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame…

Apostle Peter understood that the prophecy of the Stone in Zion was about how the Christ would become the foundation to Zion. Now if Christ is the foundation to Zion, this means that we can always meet the Christ in Zion.

Psalm 132:13-14 – For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling: “This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it…

God chose Zion as His dwelling place forever and ever, that is why God appeared in Zion 2,000 years ago at His first coming, and in the same way, He will appear in Zion at His second coming. It doesn’t matter how many times God decides to come to this earth; He will always appear in Zion, for God said that Zion is His dwelling place forever and ever.

The WMSCOG is Zion

How can we recognize what place is Zion among all the places on this earth; is it the physical Zion found in the middle east? Or is it a spiritual place? Lets see what the Bible says:

Hebrews 12:22-24 – But you have come to Mount Zion … to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men … to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant…

According to the Bible, Zion is a church. Then what characteristics does a Church need to have to be recognized as Zion?

Isaiah 33:20 – Look upon Zion, the city of our festivals…

Zion is the Church that keeps the feasts of the New Covenant (Lev 23), that is:

• The Sabbath

• The Passover

• The Feast of Unleavened Bread

• The Feast of Firstfruits (Resurrection)

• The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost)

• The Feast of Trumpets

• The Day of Atonement

• The Feast of Tabernacles

The feasts above are the 7 feasts of God, in addition to the weekly feast of the Sabbath; these are the feasts that need to be kept in a Church in order for the Church to be recognized as Zion. In the World, it is only the WMSCOG that keeps all the feasts of God, and for this reason we are confident that we are in Zion.

Then according to Matthew 24, for those who are already in Zion, who have met second coming Christ Ahnsahnghong, if someone says: “Here is he Christ or there he is” do not believe it, for we are sure that the savior always appears in Zion, and that savior is Christ Ahnsahnghong.

Romans 11:26 — …The deliverer will come from Zion…

First, Matt. 24:23-26 proves that Christ is coming again in the flesh. If not, there would be no need for a warning “Here he is” if he was coming in some spirit form and not in the flesh.
Second, Heb. 9:28 says he will appear, meaning you can see him, to those who are waiting for him. So how foolish would it be if he comes and they say “no we can’t accept you Christ, because even though we are waiting for you, Matt. 24:23-26 says if anyone says “Here is the Christ”, we can’t believe” Then how can they meet the Christ they are waiting for?
Finally, the disciples in Matt. 24:3 asked Jesus Christ WHAT IS THE SIGN OF YOUR COMING! So clearly he is coming again! Jesus told HIS disciples the sign in the following verses in that same chapter! Please don’t be deceived. Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled the prophesies concerning second coming Christ. But without studying, you will not know.

This is truly amazing because the Bible testifies that whoever trusts in the stone laid in Zion will never be dismayed. The stone is Christ and Zion is the Church of God. Then how can we be certain of the true second coming Christ when He comes? He will establish Zion (The Church of God) with the seven feasts in 3 times and the Sabbath Day. This is salvation. According to Heb. 9:28, those who are waiting for Him will recognize this fact and receive salvation. They will never be dismayed. Christ even made note of this in Matthew 24:24 “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect – if that were possible.” Meaning it is impossible to deceive the elect. The elect are Christ Ahnsahnghong’s true children who were waiting for Him and they will never be dismayed.

This article hits the nail right on the head, especially with the explanation, “Even if the real Christ appears we won’t be able to believe in Him.” Yes, of course Jesus said watch out for false Christs and don’t believe in false Christs, but He also said that we absolutely should believe in Him, at His first and second coming.
At Jesus’ first coming, it was the “experts of the law,” the Pharisees, and the religious leaders who rejected the true Christ (Jesus) and called Him and His church “a Nazarene sect (cult)”… Does anyone else see a pattern here?
Rather than consulting these so-called “experts” and “religious leaders,” we should consult those who claim that Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Christ and see what they have to say.

  4. Confused

The idea that somehow Christ wouldn’t distinguish his own coming from those he warned about seems strange and leaves me skeptical. Jesus gave us these warnings so that we could guard ourselves against those who have come to claim to be Him, and it is undeniable that there have been quite a few. I know that I come from the skeptical side but I sincerely hope that we can hear each other out because this is so critical to the true faith we are striving for.

As opposed to saying that the time of His coming is near, your fig tree link says “According to the prophecy of the fig tree, the Second Coming Christ preached the gospel of the kingdom since 1948 when Israel proclaimed her independence.” Aside from the fact that the year was marked by Ahnsahgnhong’s birth as opposed to any actual preaching of the gospel of the kingdom by him, it seems bizarre that the assumption is made that 1948 had to be “the year” something had to happen.

I’m not denying the signs that His coming is near but when considering that James had said in his letter that “the Lord’s coming is near” (James 5:8) and that “the Judge is standing at the door!” (vs 9) already in his day, the idea that the second coming had to occur in a specified year due to the phrases “it is near, right at the door” is very presumptive. The phrases “near” and “at the door” do not necessarily equal His entrance – it’s already been roughly 2000 years since James’ letter so why should we presume that Jesus’ use of those same phrases imply the exact year of his coming?

There have been many signs of His imminent coming – if the New Testament letters testify to the nearness they already felt of His coming why would we assume that Jesus implied a specific event to mean the year he’d show up? Is it out of the question to consider that Jesus wanted people in this last century to also see a sign of His imminent coming simply so that they could have some tangible evidence to feel the nearness of it too?

“Even if the real Christ appears we won’t be able to believe in Him.” That statement would be entirely false if the prophecy of Rev 1:7 is true: that every eye will see him, even the ones who pierced him. Jesus tells the high priest that he would “see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven” (Mark 14). If it’s possible for that high priest and those who pierced him to see his coming why would it be impossible for everyone dead/living to see him with their own eyes at the same time? If Jesus does intend to distinguish his second coming from those He warned about wouldn’t that be an ideal way?

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this. Please understand that I don’t mean to disparage anyone’s faith; I want to come to a better understanding of the Bible and it’s truths and how they relate to the gospel of the WMSCOG.

    • The True WMSCOG

One of the things you need to understand is that Christ needs to be understood through the prophecies of the Bible and not through a supernatural event, if we expect a supernatural event, we will make the same mistake that was done 2,000 years ago. Now 1948 is not the year of the birth of Christ Ahnsahnghong, but instead is the year of His baptism, this is in accordance with the rebirth of Israel.

If you want to understand better about the Lesson of the Fig tree, I recommend the following link: Christ Ahnsahnghong and the lesson of the Fig tree.

According to Revelation 3:20 — During the time of the Church in Laodicea, he will say: “Here I am!”.

Now in the book of James, he is using those words to warn brothers not to judge each other, otherwise they too will be judged when God comes, and just like every other disciple he thought it would happen in His lifetime… However the words in Matthew 24:32 and Revelation 3:20 are prophetical words spoken by Jesus himself.

I would also be cautious in interpreting the book or revelation literally… I mean according to Isaiah 40:3-5, the Israelites 2000 years ago had the same concept on the 1st coming of Christ, they thought everyone would see him coming on a cloud (Daniel 7:13). But He did not come like they expected Him, and finally ended up rejecting Him.

I’m working on a post to explain how certain words in the Bible have prophetical meaning to them, like the word “water” or “lamb”, they do not always necessarily mean the literal, physical meaning… they can also be used to represent other things. The word “clouds” is in the same way. Please subscribe and if you are able try to visit your local church of God.

      • Confused

I completely understand that the prophecies of the Bible were not all literal – however, Christ still ascended in a manner that could be described as a supernatural event. If He can ascend that way why could he not come back in the same way as the two men in white stated? In the context of a literal event like that, I don’t understand why their words would leave us without the option of believing that they could’ve meant their statements literally?

Thanks for the correction on the event that corresponded to 1948. Regardless of the event I think the idea remains fairly logical though – why would Jesus’ use of those particular words indicate an exact calendar year? The WMSCOG members I studied with would extensively flip back and forth through the Bible pulling different texts that suited their particular prophetical point especially if the exact same phrases were used, regardless of context or author. So I understand that you’re saying that my example of the words of James come from a different speaker and context but I guess I don’t understand how that nullifies the urgency which James wanted us to feel through his words but points to a specific urgency in Jesus’ words that would go so far as to indicate a particular year that something would occur.

Thanks so much for your time!

        • The True WMSCOG

People do not necesarily return the same way they left. At Jesus first coming 1900 years ago the Pharisees knew that Elijah had to come before the Christ

Matthew 17:10 — The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

According to the Old Testament Elijah went up to heaven by a whirlwind in a chariot of fire.

2 Kings 2:11 — As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind..

So the Jews and the teachers of the law believed that Elijah who was to come, would come down from heaven in a chariot of fire, in the same manner he went up to heaven.
Because of such a wrong belief, they could not receive Elijah(John the Baptist) and blamed him, because of this they rejected the Messiah.

Matthew 17:12-13 — But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.

While they were looking forward to Elijah’s coming in a chariot of fire, Elijah(John) was already preaching about the coming of Christ.

So it is not necessary for Jesus to come back the same way..

I am preparing an article about this question with a more detailed explanation, I feel is worthy of an article, not just an answer on a comment. Please subscribe so that you can see the upcoming response.

The words of Jesus Christ regarding the fig tree give us a calendar year because it prophesied and event that only occurred once after Jesus said the words. Jesus said that when the fig tree blossoms again, He would be right at the door… The fig tree, which is Israel blossomed, or in other words, came back to life in 1948. This event marked the time period for the appearance of the second coming of Christ.

          • Lukas Dohnal

People do not necessarily have to return the same way they left, so I would see the explanation using Elijah as an example absolutely sufficient, if it weren’t for these verses:

“They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:10-11)

Bible didn’t say about Elijah that when he returns to Earth again, he will return IN THE SAME WAY AS HE WAS SEEN ASCENDING TO HEAVEN. In my point of view, this proves the argument with Elijah invalid. Or at least not valid if standing alone.

          • The True WMSCOG

Or it could also mean that Jesus will return in a human body, just as he left in a human body. For the two men questioned the disciples for looking intently into the sky.

          • Lukas Dohnal

Definitely. However, my point is that this is not the only possible interpretation of questioning, and thus it is not the only possible interpretation of “I will return in the same way”.

            Why?

I see two reasons why the questioning of these men looking into the sky took place.

            1. Reason that you suggest. Christ was supposed to be born in flesh again and not to return literally from the sky, men in white were basically saying “Why do you look for His return in the wrong place?”.

            2. Reason that I suggest. Christ promised something. Since He was God in flesh and since it is proper to trust God when He promises something and since it would be stupid to expect His Second Coming on the same day, men in white were basically saying “Why do you stare in the sky to see His return? Do you expect Him to return straightaway?” and “Why do you stare in the sky like if you would want to verify His promise? Do you not trust the word of God? He already said He will come back from the sky again, so do not waste time and show distrust by staring there to check if he told you the truth.”

          • The True WMSCOG

Although you could have different interpretations, there is really no need to consider a second interpretation since Christ already came back, the prophecy was already fulfilled, and therefore the correct interpretation was already revealed.

1 Corinthians 4:5-6Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.”

          • Matthew 17:10 — The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

This means that the Pharisees and the religious leaders of that day thought that Elijah would come first in a chariot of fire and horses of fire and then the Messiah with the clouds in the sky. However, differently from their thoughts, Elijah came in the flesh and the Messiah or Christ also came in the flesh. (The Jews are still waiting for their Messiah coming with the clouds of the sky.)

We must remember why the angels said, “Why do you stand here looking into the sky?”
Just as Jesus ascended to heaven in the flesh, so He is to come in the flesh. Therefore, those who look into the sky and wait for the Second Coming Jesus coming with the clouds of sky cannot receive him.

The First Coming Jesus came in the flesh although it’s prophesied that He would come with the clouds of the sky (Daniel 7:13). In the same way, the prophecy that Jesus would come again with the clouds of the sky also means that he would come in the flesh.

[Some insist that Daniel 7:13 is a prophecy about the Second Coming Jesus. However, it’s clearly a prophecy about the First Coming Jesus because Jesus received the authority (Matthew 28:18) and the authority (John 17:10) and the kingdom (sovereign power) (Luke 22:19) according to Daniel 7:14.

Daniel 7:13-14 — “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power (Kingdom – KJV); all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.]

Thanks so much for your reply!

The premise behind your statement that “People do not necessarily return the same way they left” is undisputable. However, there seems to me a clear difference between expecting someone to come back in the same way they left based on our human assumptions, and expecting someone to come back in the same way they left because of a pretty unambiguous statement made by messengers of God recorded in the Bible.

If the Jews of Jesus’ time were expecting Elijah to come back on a chariot of fire it was based on their assumption that that he’d come back in the same way he left. However, when the two men in white stated “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” we are given a very definite declaration on the way in which He will come back. It doesn’t come in a context of abstract prophecy, the words used are concise and well defined, and there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of dispute among scholars regarding the meaning intended as far as translation is concerned. Jesus’ own statements in Matthew 24:30 and Matthew 36:64 would confirm their story rather than confuse the matter.

So if the Bible did not include a statement by messengers of God that Jesus would come back in the same way he left, it would not be necessary that he come back in the same way he left. It would be much easier to dismiss the idea that Jesus would come back in the same way he left and see that it was only based on human assumptions and not the word of God. It would be much easier if the two men in white had stated that he would come back in the same way he first came (as a baby) instead of the same way he left. But I’ve found that it’s really hard to look at the gospel of the WMSCOG and reconcile it with that text without having to ignore it, dismissing it, or trying to explain it away by focusing on other things.

I understand that the prophecy of the fig tree marks the time period for the second coming of Christ in some way. But all I’m suggesting is that is seems to be an assumption that Israel’s declaration of independence in 1948 had to mark the calendar year of Christ’s second coming. From previous discussions I’ve found that it seems to be based on an assumption that “near” and “right at the door” indicate His entrance that exact year, right? (Please correct me if I misunderstood that…)

But if someone comes to visit me, and stands right at the door it usually indicates an impending entry but it does not mean that they’ve entered yet. Don’t get me wrong – usually if there are people at my door they are let in fairly promptly, but when Jesus uses the metaphor of being “right at the door” I wouldn’t want to presume to know the calculated time between His standing there and His actual entrance. I could not equate the time frame of a friend or evangelist standing right at my door to their entry with the time frame involved with a Biblical metaphor. So if He tells us the time is “near” and “right at the door” we can know that His coming is truly near and His entry is imminent but He’s still going to metaphorically stand there and wait until the Father’s appointed time before He enters, whether that be immediately or a few years down the road (this seems entirely plausible in light of 2 Peter 3:8-9 as well).

While I think it would be wrong of me to assume that “near” and “right at the door” exclude the possibility of an immediate entrance (I don’t), as far as I can tell the Bible doesn’t appear explicit enough on it to dismiss the possibility that the year marked one sign closer to His impending entrance through the door and not necessarily the actual entrance itself.

But have I missed something that would clarify the Biblical meaning of “near” and “right at the door” to the point that those words would limit their meaning only to the indication of an actual immediate entrance by Jesus at the time of the prophesied sign? Or does the possibility exist that while we may have been looking for Him to appear right at the time of the sign, the prophecy is ambiguous enough to mean something that we weren’t quite expecting – that this sign came at a time to prove His coming is very close/near/impending?

Thanks again for your time (sorry my posts end up so long…) and thanks so much for your considerate responses! I will definitely read your future articles and sincerely hope that you don’t mind my questions. Best regards!

          • The True WMSCOG

Sorry for the late reply, I just got back from out of town.

            1) In acts chapter 1 verse 9 it says as follows:

Acts 1:9-11 — After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

A few things to note, is that Jesus does not ascend on a cloud, but instead, as He was going up the Bible says: “…a cloud hid him from their sight.”, this is not the same as the description of Matthew 24:30, where it states that he will come ON the clouds. As He was going up the clouds hid Him, meaning that the clouds blocked visibility. Another thing to note is that the two men dressed in white corrected the disciples on the fact that they were looking up into the sky, they questioned that action. If Jesus was going to return on a cloud from the sky, why would the men question the disciples action of looking into the sky? This means that this Jesus who will return the same way you have seen him go into heaven doesn’t mean that He will return by descending from Heaven for the eyes of men to see. “…This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” this sentence means that Jesus will return in the same way He went up, that is in the flesh. If that sentence meant that He will surf down from heaven on a cloud, then the two men should have not question the disciples on looking into the sky. (P.S. I could not find Matthew 36:64 in my Bible)

            2) Also the fact that Jesus says that when the Fig tree blossoms He is right at the door, alongside with the words of revelation 3:20 — “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock” it means that He already came, but that doesn’t mean everyone is going to let Him in. For that reason He clarifies in verse Revelation 3:20 — … IF anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. It is not enough that He came, we have to welcome Him into our hearts. This goes in accordance with two other verses.

Hebrews 9:28 — so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

The verse above states that not everyone will receive salvation even though second coming Christ appears, it will only be those who are waiting for Him. Also in revelation 2:17 it says as follows:

Revelation 2:17 — He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

Here the stone which is Christ (Acts 4:11) will have a new name on Him, but this name is only given to those who receive Him. So the fact that Israels rebirth occurred in 1948 is a sign that second coming Christ appeared, but we still have to receive Him in order to be able to receive salvation. For those who do not receive Him, He is still at the door, and if we do not welcome him, then the same thing that happened 2,000 years ago will occur today.

John 1:10 – He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world id not recognize him.

    • “Even if the real Christ appears we won’t be able to believe in Him.” That statement would be entirely false if the prophecy of Rev 1:7 is true: that every eye will see him, even the ones who pierced him.

Today, many Christians are waiting for the Second Coming Christ on the clouds of the sky. They think that Jesus cannot come in secret because He is to appear with power and great glory. However, do you know the Jews had also been looking up the sky to wait for their Messiah 2,000 years ago? They thought the Messiah would come with power and great glory and all people [all mankind] could see Him with their eyes.

A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God… And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it… (Isaiah 40:3-5)

The fulfillment of this prophecy can be found in Matthew:

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” (Matthew 3:1-3)

John the Baptist came as Elijah to prepare the way for the Messiah [Jesus.] So it’s natural that the Jews had been waiting for the Messiah who came with power and great glory. However, Jesus born as a man while the Jews had been looking up the sky. (If you try to understand Isaiah 4:3-5 literally, you also deny Jesus because it’s written “all mankind together will see it”, but only the Jews were able to see Him.)

In fact, Jesus came to the earth with power and great glory, but people could not realize His glory and power. They thought Jesus was a mere carpenter and persecuted Him. However, the Disciples realized the power and glory of Jesus and believed Him as the Messiah whom they had been waiting for. In the same way, the Second Coming Christ has come to the earth with great power and glory, but many people could not realize His glory.

Please look at the prophecies of the Bible without prejudice to receive Christ Ahnsahnghong.

Regarding clouds I have tried to study the vision in Daniel 7 as much as I could with a variety of resources – both from the WMSCOG and from biblical scholars – I am definitely no expert myself, but most references I could find and even the interpretation of the vision at the end of Daniel 7 indicate that this vision is not speaking about the first coming of Jesus to earth. Regardless of any Jewish expectations regarding this vision and Jesus’ first coming, it would appear to lend itself more to events in heaven at the end of days and parallels events written about in Revelation due to the beast’s demise described before the son of man approaches the Ancient of Days, and the statement that the saints, the people of the Most High, will be handed the kingdoms at that time. (vs 18 & 27)

I have studied the WMSCOG’s other statements about clouds quite a bit and to be honest, I also was stunned that a couple of metaphors from 2 Peter and Jude 1 would be presented as evidence to confirm Jesus’ second foretold birth on earth. The WMSCOG appears to postulate an interesting theory regarding the uniform meaning of clouds/water throughout the Bible. However, I am concerned as it seems that they pick and choose where this theory should apply to suit the purpose of having Jesus appear a second time as a baby and at times even appear to disregard the context of the text.

I think we can agree that Jesus will absolutely come in the flesh a second time – the Bible appears plain on that regardless of clouds/no clouds. (I guess I should probably clarify that by flesh I mean the imperishable “flesh and bones” (Luke 24:39) which He was raised with not another new perishable body) However, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that many Christians are waiting for the Second Coming Christ on the clouds of the sky as the Bible seems to be fairly supportive of the view that Jesus will literally come riding on the clouds for his next coming. After all, if he left that way why could he not return that way? I find it very difficult to believe that the Bible does not support that this same (identical/unchanged) Jesus that was hid by a literal cloud will not come back on the literal clouds in the same way the disciples saw him go into heaven (not in the same way He came from heaven) as foretold by the two men dressed in white.

Thanks so much for your time! May God bless the discussion!

When you look at the prophecy in Daniel:

Daniel 7:13-14 — “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power (Kingdom – KJV); all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

according to the prophecy of Daniel the one coming on the clouds of heaven will be given authority, glory and a Kingdom. This means that whoever receives these things, he is the son of man in the prophecy… let see.

Matthew 28:18 — Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…”

Luke 22:29 — And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me

John 17:10 — All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.

As we can see Jesus is the one who received all three things as described in the book of Daniel, therefore He is the one who fulfilled the prophecy, by coming as a man among the people. The word “cloud” can be used to represent people (Jude 1:12). So the Son of Man coming in the clouds, means he will come amongst the people, as one of them.

I will be posting articles on these topics soon, i feel they deserve more explanation and an article, not just a comment on a post.

Good reply. By this we can clearly see that the foretelling of Jesus’ return does not HAVE TO BE literal, as the prophecy in the book of Daniel was not literal either. (this argument is valid only if you believe Christ in His First Coming)

          • It’s so clear.
We must learn from the example of what happened to the Pharisees and the Jews who rejected their Messiah by sticking to their own thoughts. They looked at the clouds in the sky and lost the opportunity to receive Jesus who came in the flesh.
Surprisingly, most Christians are also looking up the sky (like those 2,000 years ago) to meet Jesus who is supposed to come with the clouds in the sky. What if the “clouds” do not mean the natural clouds in the sky? Please look into the Bible and receive the Savior who has already come in the flesh according to the Bible.

This article is so clear and concise! Even though many people try to deny the truth about Christ Ahnsahnghong, the Bible clearly testifies that he is the true Second Coming Christ. Psalms 132:13-14 is one of my favorite verses because it lets us know that we have to be 100% sure that we are in Zion before we can come to Christ. That’s why when we continue reading until Psalms 133:3 it says that God bestows his blessing of eternal life only on Mount Zion. I give thanks to Christ Ahnsahnghong, our true Savior in this age, for establishing for us Holy Mount Zion by giving us the Feasts of God and allowing us to have true hope to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Excellent article! There can certainly be no argument that those who seek God will only find God in Zion. Even if you continue reading from Isaiah 33:20, Isaiah prophesies that God will save us IN ZION and that the sins of those IN ZION will be forgiven (Isaiah 33:22,24). If salvation and forgiveness of sins are found in Zion, surely true almighty God must be there.

  7. Lukas Dohnal

Hello. 🙂 I read the article and I did not understand properly what was written in the part “Even if the real Christ appears we won’t be able to believe in Him.”

I have these things to say.

First paragraph – this is a note, rather than a question. I am quite sure that this note is absolutely logical and correct. If not, please correct me. According to the related part of the Bible, we could still recognize the true Christ when he comes, even if we took that passage literally. That passage’s literal interpretation could apply to true Christ in case when the Christ would appear for the second time, nobody would tell as that he is the Christ, and we would recognize that person as a Christ only based on the Bible itself.

Second and third paragraph – now this is a question. I do not understand how the fact that Jesus was speaking to his disciples, who had already met the Christ (Jesus), refutes the literal interpretation of the Bible passage (Matthew 24:23-26), or how the literal interpretation is refuted by the fact that Jesus was speaking to people, who were keeping the God’s commandments (e.g. the Sabbath).

The reply can be from anyone who has something to say to this, I do not insist on a reply from the author. Kind regards.

    • The True WMSCOG

      Hi Lukas,

regarding your 1st paragraph, it is true that we can recognize the Christ based on the Bible itself, but the Bible is not going to come to us and speak to us, someone has to come and teach us the Bible. One thing to understand is that although God does not need someone to testify Him being God, God uses people as His witnesses in every age.

Isaiah 43:12 — I have revealed and saved and proclaimed — I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God…”

Acts 1:8 — But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

So as we can see through the verses above in both the age of the Father and the age of the Son, God used witnesses to testify to others who the savior is, even though the scriptures already testified about Him. In the age of the Holy Spirit too, God uses witnesses to testify on their behalf.

Revelation 22:17 — The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” and let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

in the passage above we can see that not only do the Spirit and the Bride say: “Come!”, but also those who heard the Spirit and the bride also say:”Come!”… but the word “Come!”, is an invitation to receive the water of life, which is the word of God (Amos 8:11). Now according to the Bible, in the last days where do we need to go to in order to receive the words of God?

Micah 4:1-2 — In the last days…Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

In the last days many nations will come, and say: “Come!”… People need to be invited by those who heard the Spirit and the bride, to come to Zion. Now this leads to your question, the reason it refutes the literal interpretation is because those who use the verse in Matthew 24 to deny Christ Ahnsahnghong as the second coming of Christ, insist that preaching about a second coming Christ that has appeared is wrong, since Jesus told us not to listen to anyone who says that Christ could be here or there. But when we understand Jesus was giving a warning to His disciples not to be deceived by others claiming to be the Christ. Today many Christians think that they are disciples of Christ, simply because they confessed with their mouths to Jesus as their savior, however the Bible recognizes those who keep God’s commandments as disciples of Christ..

I hope this answered your question.

      • Lukas Dohnal

Thank you for your reply. 🙂

Regarding the first paragraph – I did not mean a case when everyone would recognize Jesus Christ as God based on the Bible (or at least not exclusively). I was talking about something like Jesus would literally appear riding some supernatural cloud or whatever, with “special effects” etc. I didn’t mean that the Bible would speak to anyone. I simply meant that Jesus would appear in such a manner that it would be undeniable even by a stubborn atheist that something supernatural (and thus probably of God – although I am aware that miracles don’t have to be a sign of God) is going on.

Concerning the refuting of literal interpretation of “here or there”, I still don’t feel like I received answer to what I asked. (“I do not understand how the fact that Jesus was speaking to his disciples, who had already met the Christ (Jesus), refutes the literal interpretation of the Bible passage (Matthew 24:23-26), or how the literal interpretation is refuted by the fact that Jesus was speaking to people, who were keeping the God’s commandments (e.g. the Sabbath).”)

        • The True WMSCOG

God can come in a supernatural way, but God will not come in a supernatural way. For the will of God is for us to put our faith in the Scriptures.

Luke 16:31 — “He said to him, ‘if they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'”

When Christians read the passage of Matthew 24:23-26 they think that this passage is speaking to them, but in reality is not speaking to the Christians of today, but the Christians of 2,000 years ago. In this way for the verse to apply to us, we need to behave and practice as those who lived and walked with Jesus 2,000 years ago

Christ will appear a second time on d earth
When he comes, great false prophets will appear
true Second coming Jesus is only One
    false one are many
Therefore,Jesus spoke that be careful false
Christ who will come a second time must be testified in d Bible
When u find him.don’t listen what ppl say
The Bible testify Christ Ahnsahnghong as God

  9. Cristian

It is so true!! If people insist on using Matthew 24:23-26 as evidence, then how can we know how and where to find the second coming of Christ? 2000 years ago Christ clearly told his disciple how and when he was coming, meaning the secrets to his return were revealed to the true believers who followed Christ’s commandments. When Christ returns we have to recognize him through the Passover of the New Covenant (Hebrews 9:28). Christ said that when he would come a second time our redemption would be near (Luke 21:27), we only receive redemption through the blood of Christ (Ephesians 1:7), in other words through Passover, which is a feast of God. The truth of the bible is perfect and Christ Ahnsahnghong revealed everything. All the truth is kept in Zion as prophesied through the scriptures.

  10. Dario

Incredible article and very insightful. I can definitely relate to this article because as a new believer when I heard about Christ Ahnsahnghong that is the first verse I thought about ,and became a bit skeptical but through the studies I was able to gain confidence and understand why Christ Ahnsahnghong is the 2nd coming Christ . But more Importantly I was able
realize that the reason why he gave warning to be careful for those false Christ was because there would be a true Christ also that we can go to and that we should recognize a tree ( prophets /people ) by their fruit .Christ Ahnsahnhong has given us the fruit of life sowed in the scriptures and watered with his sacrifice proving to who he is . I hope all will come to understand about the savior .

  11. Dianne

    WOW!
If all Christians take this verse literally, how can we wait for Christ to come a second time? The whole bible would be a contradiction because though the bible says Christ will appear again, Matthew 24:23-26 would not allow us to recognize second coming Christ.

This article really opens my eyes to see that Christ is not coming back to bring salvation to everyone, but to only those who are waiting for him. How many people are waiting for Christ to come a second time? Many Christians have lost hope in God, just living day to day without purpose. So then, why go to church? Why believe if we’re just going to die in the end?

Believe because Christ said he would come a second time to bring SALVATION (Heb 9:28)! True Christians should eagerly seek Christ. But where? The bible testifies that Christ will be in Zion, the place where all of God’s commands are kept, and where the Feasts of God are kept. What church celebrates these feasts? Only the World Mission Society Church of God.

Though many don’t agree with Christ Ahnsahnghong, this is the only Church that follows all teachings of Christ according to the bible. If I’m following all the teachings of God, that’s enough justification for me to believe in God Almighty, Christ Ahnsahnghong, because he’s the only one who reestablished the truth among all the false prophets who claim to be second coming Christ.

  12. Melissa

Wow, so true. In Matthew 24 Christ was speaking to his disciples who kept the Sabbath. Nowadays who keeps the Sabbath according to the Bible? only WMSCOG! So we know about 2nd Coming Christ, surely he is our God. How can we deny Christ Ahnsahnghong, he fulfilled Bible prophecy soo so precisely!

  13. Royce Q

To this I say, Amen! If the deliverer comes from Zion and your not in Zion, how then can you be delivered. Christ Ahnsahnghong is our deliverer, He surely is our Sovereign Lord’ who chose Zion as His dwelling place. Let’s go to Zion, our Home on Earth!

  14. Elohist4life

Hebrews 9:28 – so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Father Christ Ahnsahnghong is the precious cornerstone that reestablished Zion for His beloved children in this Holy Spirit age. You may think He is a false Christ, however you may not know that one of our Father’s last requests to His children while on Earth; before ascending into heaven, was asking His children to wait for him. Our Father sacrificed himself a second time by coming to seek and save His lost children, and allow us to truly know Creator God by keeping the Sabbath Day. How great is His mercy, we can not even fathom His great sacrifice and love for us! He let us know how to distinguish between a Jesus and The Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4). So to us whom He found, we will wait patiently for him in Zion and we are those who will receive His promised salvation. The words I cling onto each day gives me a sure hope for his salvation is this verse:

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3 NIV)

  15. Emmanuel

This is one of the questions that always had me weary, but through this explanation it is very easily understood. I very much like the argument in the article stating that if we interpret the verse in Matt. 24 like most do, then “we wont receive Christ even when the true Christ appears.” So surely the bible should testify to when, where, and why Christ should appear for a 2nd time. Also, the explanation of Zion was superb I’ve never understood about Zion before and that it is a spiritual place which indicates the Church the keeps Gods commands. Thank you for the article.
