Christ Ahnsahnghong – Guilty by Association

Christ on the Cross with two Criminals

Christ Ahnsahnghong and the fallacy of guilt by association

Many of the websites that speak negatively about Christ Ahnsahnghong and the World Mission Society Church of God use the same logic, that logic is “guilty by association.”  Guilt by association is defined as an inductive informal fallacy, which is also known as a hasty generalization.  Pretty much, if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s a duck, and anything that comes from that same country, is also a duck! This fallacy is made as an appeal to emotion and is not based on facts.

Some examples of guilt by association are as follows:

  • Peter is a criminal. Peter is from California. Therefore, all the people from California are criminals.
  • Tom, John, Chris, and Will are all friends of Ray, and they are all corrupt politicians. Tammy is a friend of Ray. Therefore, Tammy is a corrupt politician.

2,000 years ago Jesus was a victim of this fallacy. When Jesus was crucified, He was crucified between two criminals. Although Jesus Himself was not a criminal, I am sure that those who did not know Jesus Christ automatically judged Him and thought of Him as being a criminal as a result of association.

This is the same thing people try to do with the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong. They speak about the Unification Church and Sun Myung Moon, then they say that the World Mission Society Church of God and Christ Ahnsahnghong must be the same since it started in South Korea.

In reality, there are absolutely no similarities in the teachings of the World Mission Society Church of God and the Unification Church. The Unification Church teaches principles that do not come from the Bible, as per their official website:

“Sun Myung Moon studied the Bible and many other religious teachings in order to unravel these mysteries of life and human history.”

The World Mission Society Church of God and the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong come strictly from the Bible and nothing else.  The Unification Church keeps Sunday service, Christmas and all other teachings that do not come from the Bible. The World Mission Society Church of God keeps the Passover and the Sabbath of the New Covenant just as Jesus taught 2,000 years ago.

So instead of judging by standards of association with other religious groups, why don’t you try to understand Christ like the disciples did 2,000 years ago?

How did the disciples recognize Jesus 2,000 years ago?

John 4:41-42 – “And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the savior of the world.’”

2,000 years ago, the first thing people considered was His teachings. It was because of His teachings that the people believed He was the savior of the world. What was the second thing they considered?

John 1:44-45 – “Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’

The second thing the disciples considered was how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies of the Old Testament. Then it was because of His teachings and the prophecies He fulfilled that the disciples were able to recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior.

In the same way, it is because of what He taught and the prophecies He fulfilled that I believe Christ Ahnsahnghong is the second coming of Christ – not because of what people say about Him or by how popular He is.

From my research, I can confidently say that there are no similarities between the Unification Church and the World Mission Society Church of God.

If you want to understand about Christ Ahnsahnghong correctly, please come and study the Bible at the World Mission Society Church of God.

Day by Day it becomes clear, that nothing is new, and that what has happened before will happen again! The disciples did not leave Christ due to the words of eternal life! It is the same now! No one concerned or even bother to let us know how to receive eternal life, except one, our Father Christ Ahnsahnghong! Since I am a proud member of the world mission society Church of God I can earnestly say I have found the one the scriptures testify about! We do not have to break our head to figure God out, already God testified how we can recognize him! Only through the words he speaks and the prophecies he fulfills! Anything else, outside of this it’s people’s own interpretation..

I am really happy to see the scriptures posted in defense of Christ Ahnsahnghong. I believe that history is repeating itself in the present time…many people did not initially belive in Jesus, based on his appearance and upbringing. However, 2000 years ago, it was Jesus who fulfilled all of the scriptures and prophecies written in the Old Testament. Just looking at John 1:44 mentioned above, the discisples expressed great joy when realizing Jesus as the Christ through the scriptures. In the same way, Christ Ahnsahnghong is the second coming of Christ, who is clearly testified through the scriptures. Appearances alone, do not give us the proof we need, but as the disciples did, we must realize and see that Christ Ahnsahnghong is the one who fulfilled the prophecies in this current age.

I would strongly encourage anyone who has any doubts, to first see the prophecies
and then see the One who fulfilled them perfectly :)Once you see this, you will be inspired how the bible comes to life! 🙂

Truly Thank F&M for this website because we can clearly see that 2nd Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong is God in the flesh. The children of God just like the disciples 2, 000 years didn’t just assume that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh because he said he was but instead it was because of what he didn’t say. Through Jesus Christ teaching and Through the scriptures were they able to Identify God coming down from heaven. Than in this age we also must understand the same thing.2nd Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong had to come back again to restore what was lost. Did he not do that? Indeed he did. He brought back the passover, sabbath, and feast. BY Doing this he brought back the laws and the mysteries of the bible. Anything can be posted in the internet today especially by anyone. So anyone that truly wants to know about the word of god just see the truth through the bible. That is the only way to recognize God. Lets us not be quick to judge and reject our promise. My advice is come to many bible studies and see how Amazing God really is!!!

  3. Davina

“……We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law, and about whom the prophets also wrote…” (John 1:45) Christ Ahnsahnghong the second coming Christ who is testified in the Bible. Without coming to the WMSCOG how can anyone judge….The smartest thing to do is to come and see for yourself through the teachings of Christ Ahnsahnghong and also through the Bible which prophecied about Christ Ahnsahnghong’ s coming!

  4. SAfiA

When forming an opinion it is always best to check your sources…In the case of understanding who your SAVIOR is, the only true source to look at is the BIBLE. I say we follow the example of the disciples who knew Jesus was the Christ through the scriptures, not based on their own deductions when we try to understand who the SECOND COMING CHRIST is. The bible clearly testifies Christ Ahnsahnghong is 2nd coming Christ.

  5. Crystal Pantoja

Wow, this article is very interesting. I understood that because of having their own concept about God 2,000 years ago the religious leaders could not accept the True Savior. John1:1-6 Shows that The Word is God and that same Word became Flesh. Then only if you believe The Word meaning essentially the Bible can you believe in God who comes in human form as seen also in John 5:39.Lets first believe the Bible than naturally we will believe in the one that has come according to Scriptures which is the Almighty God Christ Ahnsahnghong.

    • Diane

      Hello Crystal.
Please help me understand which scripture testifies that Christ will die a natural death at his second coming.

  6. Dan

One cannot pass judgment on something without getting the facts first. What if our judicial system made judgments based on people’s opinions and associations, rather than on facts and evidence? Look at Jesus’ physical surroundings. He came from a poor fishing village. His disciples were tax collectors, prostitutes, and fisherman. He was hated and killed worse than any criminal. While most of the people despised and ridiculed him based on his surroundings, others believed the facts and testimony of the bible and received him as their savior. The same thing is happening now with those that speak against Christ Ahnsahnghong and Mother.

  7. Makia

Ok, so I know it sounds crazy at first, Second Coming Christ came to this earth and it wasn’t done in the picturesque way that we were taught, however it is true that He already came to this earth. Not only that, but He has nothing to do with the unification church. The teachings are 100% different. WMSCOG really is the church to go to to find the truth. How can a set of people be so confident? Not only confident and sure but can show evidence that is proven true. Please take some time to visit, even if you have an attitude:-) The truth will truly free you!

  8. John M.

Most Americans are unfamiliar with South Korea, so as soon as they hear that Jesus came a second time for Korea they are quite shocked. So, these people try to deceive by associating Ahnsahnghong with the Unification Church and its teachings. As you read in the article, the two are not the same at all. Please visit the World Mission Society Church of God yourself and you will find this to be true.

  9. Nkiru

Thank you for posting this article. One comment I hear often in regards to 2nd coming of Christ is that the bible says to watch out for false Christs who will appear (Matthew 24). So because many false Christs will appear, then automatically everyone is labeled false Christ. Ironically they ignore the prophecies which help us identify the true Christ. I hope many more people will come recognize the Savior according to the scriptures.

  10. SindyMQ

I was actually asked many times by friends, family and coworkers if we were associated or had similar doctrines as the unification church.
When studying the bible we can confirm that the New covenant passover can only be established by second coming Chris. I really love this website because I am able to send it to the people I know and have these similar questions . 🙂

    • Diane

Hello SindyMQ. Please point me to the scripture passage that says that the New covenant passover can only be established by second coming Christ.

  11. Michelle

For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ (Acts 4:11 NLT) . 2000 years ago the people didn’t want to accept Christ because of his appearance and his humble life. But the disciples never saw Jesus by his appearance but because of his teaching and because he was testified in the scriptures , he was a precious stone in Which they built their foundation. And just like in the scriptures it says that what happened before, will happen again….. Christ AhnSahngHong came again and revealed all the truths of the bible through the studies and books. Not only that but he was testified in the bible not only in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament. That’s why he is our precious stone together with our Heavenly Mother!!!

  12. Mindy

Nowadays, because people don’t persecute you for the name ‘Jesus Christ’, no one really considers the persecution the disciples went through 2000yrs ago. But ‘guilt by association’ is a very difficult thing to deal with. Peter, who even though he wholeheartedly believed in Jesus, at the time of His arrest, because of the fear of ‘guilt by association’, he denied Jesus three times. But even he came to his senses and overcame, and preached the gospel fearlessly regardless of what anyone thought about him.

It is the same with the Church of God World Mission Society. Even inside, though the teachings are so pure and beautiful, because of the bad reputations and teachings of other churches in Korea not related to us, and gossip they heard, they worry about how they would be seen going to our church. But we have to be like Peter who overcame regardless of what people said and thought, and follow the Christ in this age of the Holy Spirit, Father Christ Ahnsahnghong.

  13. K.M.

Thanks for sharing your insight. I actually never knew the leader of the Unification Church studied the bible and “many other religious teachings” to come up with his doctrines. Of course, that would make sense because they keep Sunday worship and other traditions stemming from paganism.

What I like about attending the World Mission Society Church of God is that we teach only what is from the Bible and the WORD of God. this is how we can understand who, in fact, is the Christ. Jesus said:

“…these are the very scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” (John 5:39)

“But how would the scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?” (Matt 26:54)

“This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses and the Psalms.”

Only through understanding and following the scriptures thoroughly, can we recognize Christ and the Church that Christ established.

    • Diane

      Hello K.M.
You seem to have got some facts mixed up. There is absolutely no truth to the statement that pagans used to worship on Sundays. This is historically incorrect. You need to read history and not believe made up stories. This is only fair if you expect that others should not unfairly associate the WMSCOG with the unification church.

  14. Argedysp

Very mind blown amazing on how everything does truly repeats itself. Everything that its taken place at this moment, happened exactly 2000 years ago. We here on earth know that we can’t just label something without knowing the truth. That’s why people get taken to court and labeled as innocent until proven guilt. In the same way, the World Mission society Church of God just because it originated from South Korea it completely keeps the same teachings from the bible that Jesus established and kept asking us to follow His example (John 13:15) without adding or taking away anything (Rev 22:18-19). However all Christ teachings were erased throughout History, Second Coming Christ will bring back the truth (Rev5:1-5) and the only one that restored it was Christ Ahnsahnghong who came from South Korea. I love the brothers and sisters so much, each and everyone of them in the World Mission Society Church of God, but I come here worship true God Almighty in which the scriptures will lead you to, if we open our mind and break our concept.

  15. Ricardo

Though two people come from the same family and one grows up to be a notorious criminal and the other a great president, it is not correct to insist that the president is a criminal based on the mere fact that his brother is a criminal. Ultimately, their character is what determines who they are.

In the same way, it is silly to insist that just because the World Mission Society Church of God started in South Korea and false churches exist there then it is also false. The standard for determining whether a church that believes in Christ is true or not should be based on whether that church follow the teachings of Christ written in the bible.

Therefore, those who study and believe the words of Christ and practices them will realize that Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother are God. Come do a bible study and see for yourself.

    • Diane

Hi Ricardo. I completely agree with the first part of your post.
Coming to the last part, I have read the 4 Gospels several times to try to understand it. There are about 72 times when Jesus has mentioned his heavenly Father. Not even once has Jesus mentioned or hinted that there is a heavenly mother. Wonder why?

      • Dan

Diane Christians believe in the Trinity, yet the word “Trinity” doesn’t appear anywhere in the bible. Jesus never used the word “Trinity.” in any of the gospels. Then why do they believe this even though it’s not explicitly spelled out in the bible? The reason is, when we put many related verses in the bible we can see that Jesus, Jehovah and the Holy Spirit are the same. In the same way, when we put many verses together we can see that Heavenly Mother does exist, even though the bible doesn’t explicitly say “Heavenly Mother. “One of the most obvious testimonies to this fact is the Hebrew word “Elohim” which is a feminine plural word for God. The word Elohim appears over 2,500 times in the bible. Also the creation of Adam and Eve, The Sanctuary, The Last Adam, The Spirit and the Bride, are all hints that prove Heavenly Mother does exist.

        • Diane

Are you sure that Elohim is feminine?

          • Dan

“Biblical Affirmations of Women” Leonard Swindler page 35
Throughout much of the Hebrew Bible the word used for the notion of God is ‘elohim. This is one of the three Hebrew variants, ‘el ‘eloah, ‘elohim. Of special interest is that Elohim is plural (which is reflected in the occasional plural verb forms used. e.g., Gen 1:26) probably coming from the singular feminine form of the word for God, Eloah (ah is a singular feminine suffix; im is a plural suffix that can be feminine or masculine). There is likely a residue of a very ancient Semitic female God, Eloah, a male God, El and a court of female and male Gods. Elohim, reflected in this Hebrew biblical usage.
The first, combining, phrase in God is reflected by God’s image, humanity, and is underscored by the Priestly writer when he writes: “and God (Elohim) said, ‘ Let us make humanity (adam) in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves…..And God (Elohim) created humankind (ha adam) in the image of himself, in the image of God (Elohim) he created it, male and female he created them” (Gen1: 26-27).

All these reasons point at a God and Goddess as subject of “We shall make people.” God pictured as a king with a court, making heaven and earth through royal strength, makes man. The ancient believer recognized man’s fertility and power as a gift of his God who himself is male and female. Only if man is conscious of holiness in his being man and woman might he be able to understand that a conception of God: Father and Mother, guarantee of life and existence is no blasphemy but expression of true faith “Our Father who art in heaven” and forgetting the Mother of all living is inadequate

          • Diane

Dan you said, “when we put many related verses in the bible we can see that Jesus, Jehovah and the Holy Spirit are the same.”
Try Mt 3:16-17 – In one pair of verses there is Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God the Father, 3 persons all existing simultaneously. Whoever told you the 3 are one single entity needs to explain that.
Those 3 persons are whom I call the Trinity. It does not need to be in the bible. It is a common name used for all 3.

          • Diane

Dan you said, “Elohim is plural (which is reflected in the occasional plural verb forms used. e.g., Gen 1:26) probably coming from the singular feminine form of the word for God, Eloah (ah is a singular feminine suffix; im is a plural suffix that can be feminine or masculine). There is likely a residue of a very ancient Semitic female God, Eloah, a male God, El and a court of female and male Gods. Elohim, reflected in this Hebrew biblical usage.”

Don’t you realize there is a lot of guesswork involved on the part of one person here? The entire explanation is full of “probably” and “Likely”
On the other hand Jeremiah clearly and unambiguously warns against the very goddess worship that this author seems to be promoting. Goddess worship is totally against biblical teaching.

          • Dan

            Diane,
Can you provide evidence proving that Elohim is not female?
Who is the female image of God referring to in Genesis 1:27?
Please explain how the Goddess in Jeremiah is referring to a female God and not idolatry?
Is the Catholic Church correct in worshiping Mary as a God and venerating her as a Saint?

          • Diane

Hello Dan. Let me take your questions one by one.
Can you provide evidence proving that Elohim is not female?
If Elohim is feminine then you must believe that Father and Mother are both feminine.

Who is the female image of God referring to in Genesis 1:27?
God has a vast number of attributes. He created man and woman in HIS image with these attributes. God has no gender but he gave man gender because he commanded them to increase and multiply. One cannot say that God has all the physical attributes of humans. Or else he would be capable of sinning too.

Please explain how the Goddess in Jeremiah is referring to a female God and not idolatry?
Goddess is the term that is always used for female deities.
Is the Catholic Church correct in worshiping Mary as a God and venerating her as a Saint?
Your question assumes something that is not true. The Catholic Church does not teach Mary is God, nor does it teach that Mary is to be worshipped.

      • Sung-Hwa

The word “Father” exists because there is the word “Child” or “Children”, and the word “Children” exists because there is the word “Mother”. Therefore, the word “Father” exists because there is the word “Mother”. Among so many words and vocabularies, Jesus Christ chose the word “Father” to call our God. He didn’t choose to call God as the king or the master, but He chose to call God as the Father, why?… Think carefully about it… And this fact will give a clue only to His loving children, so that we(children of God) can think about the existence of God the Mother. Of course what I mentioned above does not clearly clarify that there is God the Mother. However, those people who are seeking the truth will eventually come to the World Mission Society Church of God to seriously study the bible to clarify if there is God the Mother, or if there isn’t God the Mother.

        • Diane

          Hello Sung-Hwa
You are so correct. What you mentioned above does not clarify at all that there is God the Mother. Basically what you are finally saying is you have faith so you need no evidence.
What do you think will happen at the end of the world? Will Mother take 144000 to heaven with her? Since your church has many more than that many members, what happens to the remaining members?

          • The True WMSCOG

Im, sorry but I’m going to put my two cents here…

How does this question have to do with the topic of discussion in the thread or the article?? There is no point of answering a question like this if you do not believe in Heavenly Mother.

and Sung Hwa did not say that his faith doesnt need evidence, but that if you have a correct understanding of the words, thats enough evidence.

          • Sung-Hwa

            Hi Ms. Diane,

One point that I want to clearly tell you is that I need evidence to have perfect faith, which means I need a very clear evidence to have faith.

Can you believe in something with all your heart and soul that doesn’t even have a clear proof?

            Because I just can’t.

Ms. Diane, the entire bible testifies about God the Mother.

I was about to get little upset because I felt you were treating me as if I was dumb.
How can a person have a faith without any evidence?…

144,000… I can’t understand this as well… Why did you bring up a whole different topic?

I will just pass explaining about this topic and I will finish this comment by asking you a question.

Why do you think God specifically chose the word, “Father” to call God?
As you said, in the 4 Gospel Jesus mentioned so many times calling God as “Father”.
            Why?

          • Diane

I’m sorry if I have caused any misunderstanding. Go back to Sung-Hwa’s post and see if you think it makes any logical sense to someone who hasn’t been taught extensively by the WMSCOG. Because Jesus said “Father” so the word “Mother” must also exist. He is still talking about the “word” and not “God the Mother”
Then he goes on to admit that it doesn’t prove anything. So I understood that he has faith in “Mother God” and needs no proof for it.
Given that your belief system assumes that “Mother” will take you guys to heaven at the end of the world, I feel my questions were connected with Sung-Hwa’s post. Is he willing to stake his eternal future on blind faith?

          • The True WMSCOG

I can speak as well, because I share the same faith.

We do not have blind faith, we believe based on the evidence which we saw. To say “God the Father” and ignore the fact that since we say “Father” there must also be a “Mother” is inadequate.

Jesus taught about God the Mother too, you just can’t see it. So I think the term “blind” applies somewhere else other than our faith.

Again your question about the 144,000 doesn’t really matter… you do not believe in Heavenly Mother, so whatever answer is given, it doesn’t really apply to you. 🙂

          • Romeo

Well, Satan is called “father of lies” in the bible, who is the mother?

          • The True WMSCOG
