Christ Ahnsahnghong was NOT Buddhist!

Although there are many rumors out there that claim Christ Ahnsahnghong was Buddhist, this is a false rumor that has no evidence. Click and see for yourself

Christ Ahnsahnghong was not Buddhist for 30 years!

I don’t know how many times I’ve had to explain to people that Christ Ahnsahnghong was not Buddhist.  Seriously! There are so many websites and individuals out there saying that Christ Ahnsahnghong was either Buddhist or that He was born to Buddhist parents.

Let me ask a simple question: Can you give any evidence that Christ Ahnsahnghong and/or His parents were Buddhist?

… (Cricket sound) …

I guess the answer is no. There is no evidence whatsoever. The only source they point to is Christ Ahnsahnghong’s Wikipedia entry. (By the way, Wikipedia is not the most reliable source of information, especially about Christ Ahnsahnghong. You will see why through the following example.)

Next to the words, “Ahn was born to Buddhist parents,” you see a footnote with the letter “e.” When you scroll down to the footnote, you can see the source actually being cited:

The only evidence to support the false argument that Christ Ahnsahnghong was Buddhist and/or born to Buddhist parents is that Buddhism was the predominant religion in Korea by 1918. Are you serious? Can this really be the evidence to support their claim? Not only is their history about Christ Ahnsahnghong incorrect, but also their history about Korea is incomplete.

Confucianism, Buddhism and Korea.

In fact, the Cho sun Dynasty, which ruled Korea from 1392 AD to 1910 AD, held a policy to oppress Buddhism. During this period, temples could not be built near towns; they had to be constructed in the mountains. Many temples were torn down. Monks were looked down on and, for some years, they were not permitted to enter the capital city.

This policy of suppression of Buddhism was called: “崇儒抑佛策” which translates to “Confucian policy to suppress Buddhism.” This lets us see that their depiction of Korean history is inaccurate, and it is only skewed this way to support their false claims about Christ Ahnsahnghong.

Christ Ahnsahnghong had to be Buddhist because Korea was Buddhist.

If they argue that Christ Ahnsahnghong and/or His parents were Buddhist because of the fact that Christ Ahnsahnghong was born in 1918 and by that time the whole Korean peninsula was Buddhist, then they must also say that Jesus and His parents were sun god worshipers.

In the Bible, it is written that Jesus and His parents fled to Egypt because of the persecution coming from King Herod.

Matthew 2:13-15 – When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “Take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” So he got up, took the child during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

During the time that Jesus fled to Egypt, what was the predominant religion in Egypt? It was the worship of the sun god, Rah. Then because of this, can we say that Jesus and His parents believed and worshiped the sun god since they were living in Egypt? Of course not! Through this we can see how groundless and absurd their  argument about Christ Ahnsahnghong is.

Christ Ahnsahnghong and the prophecy about Melchizedek

It is prophesied that Second Coming Christ is to be born to parents who do not believe in God. In order fulfill the prophecy about Melchizedek, Christ Ahnsahnghong was born to a family of non-believers. Then, does the fact that Christ Ahnsahnghong was born to a family of non-believers imply that Christ Ahnsahnghong and His parents believed in Buddhism? We should not be deceived by such man-made stories.

People who speak against Christ Ahnsahnghong and the World Mission Society Church of God have no interest in the truth; they merely try to bring the way of truth into dispute. The Bible already warned us about such people:

2 Peter 2:1-3 – But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

We should only rely on the Bible and the testimony of those who actually walked with Christ Ahnsahnghong, rather than such unidentified man-made stories. Since the Bible testifies about Christ, we ought to seek and receive the Savior through the Bible.

Christ Ahnsahnghong is the Second Coming Christ who fulfilled all the prophecies of the Bible. The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) believes in Christ Ahnsahnghong as the Savior in this age on the basis of the testimony coming from the Bible.

Please visit your nearest World Mission Society Church of God and learn more about Christ Ahnsahnghong through the prophecies of the Bible.

wow this is so true!!! The fact that people have false claims is very silly but the fact that they use Wikipedia to support it is even more silly !!!! The prophecies in the bible that chirst Ahnsahnghong fulfilled are his id. No one in this world fulfilled bible prophecy like he did therefore he is God!!! Who fulfilled the order of Melchizedek 🙂

God never spares any detail in order for us to receive salvation and to recognize the one who gives us salvation. Using Wikipedia to understand about God is like using a math book to understand about dinosaurs, it doesn’t make sense. I truly thank Christ Ahnsahnghong for giving us the true interpretation of the bible so that we can be saved.

I want to give thanks to God for the truth of the Bible that was taught to me at The World Mission Society Church of God and sincerely, there’s no other church like the Church of God , and what makes me say this , is that everything i have learned was based on the Bible , including the prophecy of Melchizedek. No one ever told me that Christ Ahnsahnghong , whom we believe as the Savior , was budhist ,but that HE was born in a non-believer family , which is exactly what the prophecy said. I was also shown history facts from real history sources (not wiclypedia). Because of it i have built up my faith as a Christian in Christ Ahnsahnghong. I would highly encourage people to go and visit the Church of God and do a bible study so that you can see with your own eyes the prophecies that Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled rather than making a judgement based on people’s poor opinions.

Are you kidding me?? They even “fixed” their citation to match their claim?? How ignorant and abusive! I guess the truth of the matter didn’t support their claim so they had to lie. How can anyone trust what’s said on the internet when just anyone (literally anyone) can click edit and type what they want. If we believe the Bible then we need to know what the Bible says. If anyone questions the validity of Christ Ahnsahnghong being God then they need to research the Bible that’s it.

I’m an active member of the WMSCOG & proud of it. It’s so sad that people will by any means try to find fault with the truth. My thing is who cares what religion Christ Ahnsahnghong or His parents had. How can that justify anything? What matters is that Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled all the Bible prophecies.

Wikipedia are thoughts based upon someone else’s understanding & many times it provides to be inaccurate information. If you could depend on the information provided by Wikipedia then Teachers & Professors would except the assignments. However they don’t.

If people really wanted to know about our Savior Christ Ahnsahnghong all they have to do is Bible study, the scriptures testify about Him. The problem is they rather seek God through the Internet instead of the Bible which testifies that Christ Ahnsahnghong will appear to bring salvation. Salvation is way more important then dwelling on what religion Christ Ahnsahnghong may have had.

  6. Matthew

Who cares if his parents were Buddhists? It does not change the fact that he brought the truth of life, the New Covenant Passover. For me, the most important fact is that Christ Ahnsahnghong brought the perfect truth of the New Covenant.

I appreciate this article and hope it clears up any mid-information anyone may have had.

I am very thankful to God Elohim for this article . I never heard Christ AhnSahngHong was Buddhist before He started the Gospel work. And I don’t think i that it would make a difference if his family was Buddhist or not. According to the Bible Christ AhnSahngHong is surely Our God. He restored all the truth of the new covenant; passover, the Sabbath, the feast of God. Because of His Sacrifice and love I have life. I hope everyone will realize that the Bible is the only reliable source that can lead us to our Savior(John 5:39) and only in the Church of God established by Christ AhnSahngHong teaches the Bible and keeps its perfect truth correctly. Without adding or taking away from it.

  8. James

I think it’s amazing that we’re seeing prophesies being fulfilled before our very eyes(2 Peter 2). It was already said 2,000 years ago that this would happen! Just wow..lol. I’m so Thankful that Father Christ Ahnsahnghong called me by my name into the Truth. I hope all who read this article understand that Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled every single prophecy in the Bible with absolutely no errors. And if you disagree, please come to the WMSCOG for a Bible study first, before seeking outside sources who can’t back up their information.

I give All Glory and Honor to Heavenly Father Christ Ahnsahnghong He is God All Mighty.

It seems as though fault-finders will use anything to distract people from seriously checking into what they’re reading and/or believing. Why wouldn’t you truly find out what is true and what is false by educating yourself to know confidently that what you stand for is valid? I believe that if you’re a morally-sound individual you wouldn’t make claims that would derail your integrity – however, since the bible already prophesies about stories being made up by those who speak against the true church then surely those people will exist and since there are so many false claims then it only makes the truth seem louder and even more obviously true – thankful for the absurdity of falseness and delusional irrational logic because it makes believing in the truth so easy.

In matters regarding our physical health and well being we usually go to a specialist, a doctor, you know someone who has studied and has done research…someone who is qualified. I feel like we can all agree to that, right? We wouldn’t want to in trust our health to the opinion of common-folk who want to give you their family tradition or something they find on Wikipedia.

I can’t help but apply that same mindset to my spiritual health and well-being. I feel like our first instinct is learn from those who practice the words from the bible, who follow the teachings and who deliver the word of God. I feel like going to these websites that only give you their thought and opinion on matters regarding our faith and beliefs isn’t beneficial to our spiritual health. Wikipedia is also known as a lazy alternative to study and is not a reliable source of information.

If we have come to believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong through scripture then let us be confident and strong in faith let’s not be wavered by false teachers “false doctors”

I feel like in a real life situaton if I were to go to a doctor and they gave me the cure for the illness I have, would I easily be unconvinced of the cure because of the thoughts and opinions of people who did research on Wikipedia? To be honest, I may consider.. I suppose if they genuinely were concerned and in turn get a clear proof…in the spiritual case, our proof is the bible.

Let us study the bible and build our faith in the salvation of Christ Ahnsahnghong !

This post reminds me of Romans 10:17 – Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

People are deluded by fabricated stories, such as this, because they fail to receive the message from the Bible and the prophets who walked with Christ. People who slander Christ Ahnsahnghong are no different from the people who slandered Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago.

Romans 10:16 – But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”

Those who did not accept the good news were the very same people who either made false claims against Jesus, or were deceived by the false claims. If the Jews who went against Christ had believed the testimony of the Bible, or at least accepted the testimony of the disciples, they would have avoided going to Hell. The same thing is happening now. If you really want to know about the life of Christ Ahnsahnghong, then read the Bible. If your unwilling to read the Bible, then at least ask those who personally know Christ Ahnsahnghong, instead of listening to the rumors made up by people who never even met Him.

Before making a rash judgement, please contact the Church of God and schedule an appointment to learn more for yourself.

  13. So.. If a jewish person is born in the US he must be catholic because in America most people are Catholic? this logically doesn’t make sense. I hope people come to there senses and realized how many prophecy Christ Ahnsahnhong fulfilled and not worry about his physical life.

  14. Whitney K.

When I first started attending this church, I was comforted in the fact that everything taught is right from the bible. I didn’t take into consideration what other people said or what was said on the internet because, as a Christian, I saw it in the only source that matters. I am amazed that people can be so easily swayed to base their faith on what they saw/heard; having NO BIBLICAL or ANY evidence at all for that matter. Salvation is not a joke, please study the bible and put your faith and hope into the words of God!

  15. Phil

I really hope that no one bases their salvation by what they read in a Wikipedia article. Probably over 99% of the people who read that Wikipedia article never looked at the footnote. If they did, the fallacy in logic becomes quite clear. We just have to focus on the Bible. The truth is in there.
